General Guidance
Do not pair your device via the tablet’s system Bluetooth settings.
All Bluetooth pairing is handled inside the MedWand exam application.
Bluetooth only works with compatible peripherals. Refer to our support site or contact your sales rep to check compatible models.
Enter the Exam and open the Sensors menu.
Select the peripheral you want to add.
Tap Start.
You’ll see one of two screens:
First-ever pairing on this tablet: you go straight to the pairing screen.
Previously Paired a Device: A 30-second countdown appears where you would normally connect a previously paired device. Wait for it to finish, you’ll then be presented with the pairing screen to add a new device.
Put your device into its pairing mode (follow the device’s manual).
When the tablet detects the correct device, it will display a confirmation message. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish pairing.
Done! Your device is now saved to memory. Refer to the next section to get a reading.
IMPORTANT: A tablet and device normally only need to be paired once. If you use a new tablet, device combination, or clear the app's memory, it will have to be done again.
From the Sensors menu, select the peripheral you will be using.
Tap Start on the MedWand app.
Put the device into connection/pairing mode (some devices have a separate button press for connection vs pairing, while others use the same for both).
A 30-second countdown will run while the tablet searches for your device.
Once connected, you’ll return to the Sensors screen with a “Waiting for reading” message at the bottom.
Perform the measurement on your peripheral.***
When data is transferred, it appears on the tablet screen within the MedWand app and is automatically stored.
***NOTE – Some devices require you to:
Pair first, then take a reading,
Measure first, then enter pairing mode.
If you’re unsure which workflow your peripheral uses, consult its user manual.
