We are going to take a few minutes
to familiarize ourselves with the med wand device
and get set up for our first exam.
The med wand device contains multiple sensors
for the collection of vital information sounds and images.
On the front is our ultra high definition camera
for taking images of the body.
On top is the pulse oximeter for collecting blood,
oxygen, and pulse rate.
On the bottom is the stethoscope for auscultating
and recording sounds.
ECG pads for heart rhythm, and a thermometer.
The med one has no batteries
and is powered by connecting it to a compatible tablet,
laptop, or phone via the included USBC cable.
Once connected properly,
a green light will appear on the back of the med wand
to indicate it is powered and ready to use.

The med wand application is required to begin an exam.
If you have not already downloaded the application.
You can find it on the Google Play Store
or Apple App store by searching med wand,
then pressing install
once downloaded.
If you open the application, you will see an option
for training mode.
Training mode will allow you to practice with the device
with in-app instructions.
Data collected in training mode will not be stored
or shared with your clinical care team during exams.
You may be asked to allow the med wand permissions
always allow when prompted to learn how to use the device
to store and share data.
