Remote Exam Tutorial (Patient Side)

Transcription
The patient's side of a remote exam begins
by using a browser to navigate to the exam code entry page.
Typically located at mwkiosk.medwand.com
unless instructed otherwise.
Here, you will enter your six digit exam access code
that should be provided to you by your clinical care team.
After entering the code, select, join this exam
and confirm the information on screen is correct.
To begin. This demonstrates one common
method to start an exam.
Your clinical care team may use an alternative method,
which they will inform you of directly.
Once in the exam room,
select the start conference button on the medwand
application to connect with your clinician.
Once connected, your clinician will guide you
through the exam using the medwand device.
The clinician will control the medwand remotely,
but will need your help to properly position the device
for accurate readings.
Follow their instructions carefully
and feel free to ask questions or clarify steps
and inform them if you encounter any issues or discomfort.
For example, when using the thermometer,
the clinician may ask you
to hold the medwand a specific distance from your forehead.
Follow their guidance
to ensure the thermometer is pointed correctly.
They may ask you to wave the medwand across your forehead,
temple to temple while they capture the reading
for the pulse oximeter.
Your clinician will guide you
to place your finger over the sensor at
the top of the medwand.
Ensure your finger is fully covering the sensor
and stay as still
as possible while they take the measurement.
If the stethoscope function is used,
the clinician will guide you on where to properly.
Place the medwand on your chest, lungs, or abdomen.
Hold the medwand steady in each position
as directed while they record the sounds
for the camera.
The clinician may ask you
to point the medwand at a specific area on your skin.
Use the clear ruler provided to ensure accurate positioning.
Rest the ruler gently against your skin
as the clinician adjusts the image and takes a photo.
If an ECG is part of your exam, you'll be asked
to place your thumbs on the triangular sensor pads on the
bottom of the medwand.
Follow the clinician's guidance
to position your thumbs correctly
and remain seated with your feet flat on the
floor during the recording.
Once the exam is complete, do not close the app.
Wait for your data to upload.
Once you see the exam, complete message,
you may close the application.
